Ruth says:
I have hand sawn 2.2 cm pendent from .8 mm sheet. The silver is oxidised and waxed. The pendant hangs from an 18″ 1.3 mm box chain. Fully hallmarked.
My name is Ruth Sutcliffe and in March 2012 I launched my Ruth Makes Jewellery website as a showcase for the hand crafted sterling silver jewellery I create with my partner Jeremy Coates in our 17th century workshop in the hills of West Yorkshire.
Our jewellery is all individually hand pierced, carved and engraved from recycled sterling silver (Ecosilver), so no two pieces are totally identical. We are inspired by the countryside around us, and the crazy antics of our own cats too. My particular obsession is hares and I try to capture their very essence in my pieces as well as portraying their magical qualities in the moon gazers.
All chains, clasps and findings are sterling silver, and where appropriate our work is hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office. The chain length is usually 18″. We present the jewellery in matte black gift boxes made from recycled materials.
