Thank you Avon & Somerset police. There is no place for this archaic & barbaric activity in our countryside 🐇

North Dorset Hunt Saboteurs @NDHuntSabs

Dorset and Somerset Bassets packed up by Avon and Somerset Police this morning! Well done to the vigilant locals who called us and police and saved hares. The huntsman is in court in November after being caught at it at the wildlife crime hotspot of Bagber in Dorset.

Sadly hare hunting has begun early this season with the Dorset and Somerset Bassets caught leveretting - hunting baby hares, this evening. Caught out they tried to say they were trail hunting, before accusing us of ruining their lives! With @DorsetMonitor and DABS @ActionHare

Unbelievably, yes.

Even though hunting with dogs is banned, 68 hare hunts are still active across England and Wales.

They chase hares with packs of hounds and exploit loopholes in the law to get away with it.
